Add to Calendar 10/24/2018 9:00 AM 10/26/2018 10:00 PM Asia/Calcutta AFITA/WCCA2018 Conference The scientific program focused on 'Research Frontiers in Precision Agriculture' for sharing the recent advances in ICT, IoT, sensor networks, image processing, robotics, machine learning, big data analytics, etc. in agricultural applications, precision agriculture in particular. IIT Bombay, Mumbai

WELCOME

The Asia-Pacific Federation for Information Technology in Agriculture (AFITA) brings to the world a forum to consolidate ideas, research, innovations, inventions and the vigor to transform the agricultural revolution with ingenuity. AFITA conducts conferences dedicated to the future use of ICTs in the agri-food and related sectors. International Network for Information Technology in Agriculture (INFITA), an internationally-acclaimed collaborative effort among agricultural information technology associations, organizes World Congress on Computers in Agriculture (WCCA). In October 2018, AFITA is going to be co-located with WCCA (AFITA/WCCA2018). This collaborative scientific program aims to coalesce the 'Research Frontiers in Precision Agriculture' for sharing the recent advances in ICT, IoT, sensor networks, image processing, robotics, machine learning, big data analytics, etc. in agricultural applications, precision agriculture in particular. The research contributions through presentations, posters, workshops etc. would focus at supporting the development and implementation of these frontier technologies for a competitive, sustainable and environmentally-friendly agriculture.

Indian Society of Agricultural Information Technology (INSAIT) is an established Indian body, launched in 2000, to mobilize farmers, scientists/academicians/researchers, institutions and organisations for encouraging and promoting all aspects of agricultural IT. The INSAIT would be grateful to organize AFITA/WCCA2018 conference. The conference will be hosted by IIT Bombay, which is one of the premier institutions in India that offers a wide variety of courses of study in engineering, pure sciences, design, management and humanities with a primary focus on engineering. The Centre of Studies in Resources Engineering (CSRE) is the apex unit of IIT Bombay, working in the frontier area of Geo-informatics and Natural Resources Engineering with modern technologies including geospatial and multi-mode sensing platforms. In terms of research in the agricultural domain, the Agro-Informatics lab of the CSRE is hailed with significant contributions involving various (Information, Communication and Dissemination Technologies) ICDTs in agriculture.

Sponsorship Opportunities for AFITA/WCCA2018

About Conference-AFITA/WCCA2018

The conference provides a peer-reviewed forum for researchers from across the globe to share contemporary research on developments in the field of precision agriculture involving applied ICTs and IoTs. It seeks to promote effective and vibrant networking among researchers and practitioners from around the world who are concerned about sustainable agricultural development.

Collaborative Network

This is an international network of researchers fostering the development of emerging scholars from across inter-disciplinary domains for a central purpose. The conference is designed to be collaborative with a key capacity-building feature of providing a venue for the attendees to get substantive and beneficial feedback on their work.

AFITA is an international body and member of the umbrella organization INFITA. It deals with the issues of IT in agriculture, Food Security and Environmental Impacts, and effectively organizes annual conferences in their member countries through its national level IT-Agriculture associations. This year, INFITA wishes to hold its annual WCCA in conjunction with AFITA2018, hence the name - AFITA/WCCA2018.

Benefits of Sponsorship

Sponsors accrue several benefits through this strategic investment

  • Enhancing the visibility and reputation of the sponsor within the research community
  • Interacting with key researchers and academicians who influence research directions
